Summary: Ten Year Review of EO Travel Backpack (Expandable) by Incase
I got this EO Travel Backpack 10 years ago. I dug up my Incase order confirmation email which was dated 5/7/16, 8:14 p.m. I’m about to glaze the hell out of Incase right now, so like I’ve said in past posts, this is NOT a sponsored post. But if Incase reads this article, I’d be down to get a free backpack….**WINK**!
This is a real testimonial from a real person: me. BTW, I write and research at the same time, so I probably won’t circle back to fix grammar… this is literal mind barf. Check out this guy and his write-up: the site’s clean, well-designed, genuinely dope, and after a month of testing he lands on a 7.6 out of 10 for the EO. My only gripe is that a one-month test is nada compared to my 10 year test. I’m bumping that up his review to a 9.6 out of 10, purely on how long this backpack has survived and ridden with me through thick and thin.
I know it’s been discontinued and the replacement is the ARC backpack and I’m praying to baby jesus the quality hasn’t slipped esp with the $249 price tag, because here we go with my Incase review:
Score 9.6/10 Hi, I’m Jon, and I’m reviewing the EO Travel Backpack in 2026, officially marking 10 years of it living on my back. I’ve been on (I’m guessing) 40 trips with my buddy EO – New York to LA and everywhere in between. It’s been tossed, kicked, checked, tugged, nearly mugged, dragged through mud (possibly shit), and then some. I’m using it today, and every single day. Overall, the material is thick and rugged. The strap pads are cushiony, pillowy – there’s even padding on the back panel, and when you press it, it feels like memory foam. Pockets everywhere. The top pocket right by the handle is perfect for AirPods or chapstick. The kicker: when it’s not expanded, it just looks like a normal backpack – and remember, 10 years ago, not everyone had a padded laptop pocket. I think Incase was one of the pioneers in this laptop-and-travel-pack space. The expansion for extra clothes is still damn impressive – I know, it’s not rocket science, you just unzip for more room – but it’s designed so well that even though it looks a little boxy, you never need a second bag to travel with.
